PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS
The full list of organizations who received grant funds in January 2025 includes:
Benzie Area Christian Neighbors received $5,000 for their Blessings in a Backpack program that provides supplemental weekend food bags for approximately 400 children attending Benzie Central and Frankfort-Elberta Area Schools.
Benzie Senior Resources received $15,000 to help pay for a new delivery van for their home delivered meals program.
St. Phillips Episcopal Church Baby Pantry received $10,000 to provide diapers, formula, food, books, toys, winter coats, boots, and more to low-income families.
Lake Ann United Methodist Church’s Food Pantry received $3,000 to provide food assistance for the lower income families. Approximately 60% of their patrons are from Benzie County.
Habitat for Humanity of Benzie County received $11,500 to build affordable, energy efficient homes for low-income families and provide home repairs to military veterans.
Women’s Resource Center of Grand Traverse Area received $10,000 to support their Helen’s House emergency shelter for domestic and sexual abuse victims (20% of the residents are from Benzie County).
St. Andrews Presbyterian Church’s STAMP program received $2,500 to help cover the cost of home repair materials for area residents in need — helping to keep their homes safer, dryer, and warmer.
Benzie County Child Abuse Prevention Council received $3,000 to support Benzie Cares for Kids program that includes summer camp, sleep safe materials, child abuse awareness, and more.
Child and Family Services of Northwest Michigan received $4,000 support their Say Yes to Youth program that provides Benzie County youth with shelter and counseling.
Crystal Lake Cooperative Preschool received $5,000 to enhance their art enrichment program, construct outdoor learning experiences, and improve indoor STEM materials.
Whistle Stop Child Care Center received $5,500 for professional development and their literacy expansion initiatives.
Friends of the Darcy Library of Beulah received $1,400 to cover the costs for their children’s summer reading program.
Benzie Community Drop-In Center received $2,500 to support Benzie “Friends” Wellness Program that provides wellness activities to Benzie County’s disabled community.
Remain In Touch received $1,000 for their ongoing literacy program targeting incarcerated parents and assisting the parents to stay connected with their children through reading and recording books.
Donated dollars stay in Benzie County! We use an extensive qualification and review process before awarding grants and are proud of the results achieved by these deserving organizations. Together, we all can help make Benzie a better place to live, work, and raise a family.
